Saga of the Swamp Thing was a genuinely terrifying horror comic whose stories dealt with supernatural horrors such as werewolves, vampires, and zombies, but also handled the real-world monsters of nuclear waste mismanagement, domestic abuse, and the legacy of racism haunting a Louisiana plantation.
